Following basic rules are applied for the 2010-11 FE admission process.

Please refer to official Admission Brochure or DTE website for the latest details for 2010-11 admissions

Seats available for admission through Centralized Allotment Process (CAP):

These are the seats for which admission is carried out by the Competent Authority through CAP. The details of such seats are as shown in the following table.

Allocation of Seats/ Types of Seats under CAP: -

  • Maharashtra State Seats (MHT-CET):

    • Home University seats (HU Seats):
      Certain percentage of seats of every institute is reserved for Home University i.e. for the University under the jurisdiction of which that institute is situated. Home University seats are available for allotment through CAP for the Maharashtra candidates having their Home University status as that University. For example, candidates having their home university as Pune University will be eligible admission to the Home University seats of those institutes which are located in the jurisdiction of Pune University.

    • Seats for candidates belonging to Universities other than Home University (OHU seats):
      Certain percentage of seats of every institute is reserved for Other Universities i.e. for the Universities other than the Home University under the jurisdiction of which that institute is located. Such seats are called as OHU seats. Candidates can opt for seats of any other University (excluding his/her home university) under this provision of OHU seats. For example, candidates having their home university as Mumbai University will not be eligible for the OHU seats of those institutes which are located in Mumbai University. Candidates having their home University other than SGB Amaravati University are eligible for these OHU seats of the SGB Amaravati University.

  • All India (AIEEE Paper-1) Seats:


    These seats are available for allotment through CAP for AIEEE 2010 (Paper-1) qualified eligible candidates. No reservation for candidates of backward class categories, Ladies, PH, Defence etc. is provided in these seats i.e. all these seats are treated as belonging to the “General Category”.

Admissions to VJTI, Mumbai; COE, Pune; UICT, Mumbai, SGGSIE&T, Nanded and WCE, Sangli, VIT, Pune:

As per Government Resolution(s), admissions to these institutes will be carried out separately. These institutes will not be considered under Centralised Admission Process. Common Entrance Test for the admissions to these institutes will remain same as that of MHT-CET conducted for Engineering, Pharmacy & Medical Degree courses by the Competent Authority of Govt. of Maharashtra. Candidates are required to fill up separate application form for admissions to these institutes. Admissions for all the seats of these institutes will be carried out on the basis of MHTCET- 2010 marks as per the inter se merit of the Maharashtra State candidates who have applied separately for admission to these Institutes as per the relevant rules. Statutory reservations for candidates belonging to backward class categories as per the relevant rules and resolutions of the Government of Maharashtra will be applicable for admissions to these institutions.
